Georgia Tech undergraduate students have the opportunity to participate in 6-12 month global internships in the Dominican Republic. Interns will be hosted by the Colegio Bilingüe New Horizons (New Horizons), a private and bilingual international school that offers all levels of education from toddlers through high school students across two campuses (Santo Domingo and Santiago). New Horizons follows the Spanish language curriculum of the Dominican Ministry of Education, and its English language program is equivalent to a college preparatory STEM-oriented high school program in the U.S. New Horizons is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Interns must be native English speakers but are not required to speak Spanish, although knowledge of the language is a plus.

Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program →

The Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program is a six-week summer program designed to provide undergraduate students with a deeper appreciation of current issues and trends in international affairs, a greater understanding of career opportunities in international affairs, and the enhanced knowledge and skills to pursue such careers. The Program usually selects 15 participants (known as "Rangel Scholars") each year from universities throughout the United States. Students live at Howard University, attend classes, and participate in a variety of programs with foreign affairs professionals at Howard and at diverse locations around Washington, DC. The Program covers the costs for tuition, travel, housing, and two meals per day. It also provides a stipend of $3,200.

Interns in the CIA's Directorate of Operations (DO) support the DO's mission of collecting human intelligence on critical international developments. The DO is the covert arm of the CIA. Working in the Washington, DC area, DO student interns perform duties typical of a Collection Management Officer or Staff Operations Officer, teaming with knowledgeable professionals to facilitate the collection and dissemination of foreign intelligence used by US national security, defense, and foreign policy officials and intelligence analysts. Interns are generally freshmen at the time of application. DO internships offer competitive salaries and benefits.

National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Summer Student Internship Program →

The National Weather Service (NWS) National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) is accepting applications for its 2017 summer student internship program. NCEP is offering up to 10 paid summer internships targeted towards current undergraduate and graduate students to work in areas that will meet the future needs of the ever-broadening weather-climate-water user community. Students may be involved in activities that improve understanding of forecasting issues and address critical aspects of operational model development.

James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS) Summer Internship →

The James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS) offers on-the-job training during the summer for undergraduate students in nonproliferation studies. Participants conduct research on issues related to the spread and control of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), including: nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, and regional security issues in the former Soviet Union, Eurasia, East Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East. In addition to working on ongoing projects at CNS, interns may develop their own research projects under the guidance of senior CNS faculty. Interns will attend CNS lectures and training seminars throughout the summer. Usually, CNS starts the training program at the beginning of June for two to three months.

Summer Consultants work on teams to develop rigorous, high-quality economic or financial analysis and reports. They participate in a thorough internal training program that provides the tools necessary to contribute to many aspects of a project. Under the direction of senior start, Summer Consultants will have the opportunity to conduct research on various subjects, work with databases, spreadsheets, and other tools to analyze data and information; create economic and business models; synthesize facts, communicate with exports and clients; and prepare presentations and reports. They work side by side with colleagues at all levels and background, from PhD economists to lawyers and MBAs.
