Diplomatic Academy →

Our summer academy is a unique training program that helps prepare undergraduate and graduate students, recent graduates and early-career professionals for careers in international diplomacy. It introduces them to the fundamentals of diplomatic practice and focuses on practical, real-life aspects of work in national and local governments, embassies and consulates, international organizations and multinational businesses. The material emphasizes a skills-based approach and is generally not offered at colleges and universities. The program also includes one-on-one and group career-counseling sessions. We will begin reviewing applications and extending admission offers on March 1, 2018. Although the application deadline is April 1, 2018, space is limited and may fill up earlier.

The intern will support DCA in the administration of  the  Housing  Tax  Credit  program.  Each  year,  DCA  receives  60+  applications  requesting  nearly  $750  million in financing to build multifamily affordable housing developments throughout the state. In response  to  these  applications,  the  agency  conducts  a  detailed  and  comprehensive  analysis  of  each  application to ensure that only the best proposed developments are allocated awards. The responsibilities of the summer intern will include, but are not limited to the following:  Processing and evaluating these applications for funding  Conducting critical policy research across diverse affordable housing or community development topics  Supporting  policy  development  for  the  Qualified  Allocation  Plan  (the  plan  that  governs  the allocation of tax credits) Open to graduating seniors and graduate students. The internship dates are flexible, running from May to August. If resources are available, the internship could continue into the school year. This is a paid, 40 hour/ week position.
