Paid Research Position

When: Fall 2018

Researchers in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering are seeking graduate assistants (GAs) or undergraduate research assistants (URA) to help collect and analyze vehicle occupancy data for the State Road and Tollway Authority. It is a research on evaluating the performance of newly opened Express Toll Lanes on I-75 and I-85. Students will help teams for one or two data collection shifts per week (8 hours/week) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays, during the morning peak (6AM to 10AM) and afternoon peak (3PM to 7PM). Additional work hours are available for laboratory data entry, for up to 20 hours per week. Graduate students will also have the opportunity to participate in the publication of research papers resulting from this project. The research team needs assistance as soon as possible. Field data collection will extend through October, and lab work will continue through December. Data collectors are paid $15/hour for GA, and $12.5/hour for URA, for training, time in the field, travel hours, and lab work. The mileage reimbursement rate for volunteer drivers is 54.5 cents/mile.
