Case Interviewing Workshop

Economic Impact Analysis Internship →

The Office of Investment Policy (OIP) analyzes proposed investment projects to ensure their eligibility for OPIC assistance with regard to the agency's policies on worker rights and environmental standards, employment and development and market effects; performs risk analyses and portfolio analyses; and monitors existing projects to assure continued adherence to contractual provisions and statutory requirements. The Economic Impact Analysis Group internship involves working with staff economists to manage and develop summaries of data collected by OIP. We are seeking someone with an interest in international development or international economics who has a strong background in quantitative analysis, such as statistics and/or econometrics. Experience with Excel and/or Access is desired.

CSIS seeks one full-time intern to support the International Security Program (ISP) on administrative issues and general research efforts. ISP focuses on global security challenges, and the management of the United States Department of Defense. The German American Chamber of Commerce South has internships openings in consulting services and events coordination. In consulting services the intern will learn first-hand about issues surrounding bilateral trade between the U.S. and Germany from the practical perspective of handling daily inquiries that are received from companies interested in expanding their transatlantic business activities. In Events Coordination the intern will gain valuable experience in event management and will actively participate in marketing activities to new and current members. UNIC interns have a broad range of responsibilities that include everything from representing the office at Washington events to fielding public inquiries. As part of the program, interns attend Capitol Hill hearings and NGO/think tank briefings on a variety of international subjects and report back to the office and UN headquarters on what was said. UNIC works with each intern to enable him/her to attend meetings on topics of particular interest. Another facet of the internship program involves monitoring international and regional news and keeping UNIC abreast of important UN-related developments. In addition to these primary responsibilities, interns are responsible for assisting with UN events, outreach and public inquiries. They are also given the opportunity to assist with visits of UN officials and conduct research for UN staff and projects.
