What do you like best about your major?
I love that it converges both computer science and media; the technical and the personal. As someone who doesn't want a 9-to-5 programming job, Computational Media is my outlet for getting to explore both the computational and back-end aspects of technology but also the digital media and human interaction part of technology. It is a unique major and thus provides a unique experience and unparalleled opportunities offered by both the Ivan Allen College and the College of Computing.
What do you love about liberal arts at Georgia Tech?
I love that liberal arts has such a wide variety at a school as technical as Georgia Tech spanning everything from foreign languages to economics. Getting to explore liberal arts through the lens of technology has been an irreplaceable experience as we get to dive deep into the effects of Artificial Intelligence on these liberal arts fields but also doing hands-on work independent of technology.

What do you like best about your major?
I love what a unique opportunity Computational Media is! I love how creative and expressive I can be, combining art with the digital world. It strongly places an emphasis on both the arts and technology, which really does ensure that we get the best of both worlds!
What do you love about liberal arts at Georgia Tech?
I like that liberal arts programs at a Tech school ensure that students can garner different approaches to many different challenges. Being at a Tech school, of course students obtain a technical foundation and knowledge, but liberal arts in particular really makes students stand out because we learn unique perspectives to attacking social or institutional issues.

What do you like best about your major?
What I love most about my major, Computational Media at Georgia Tech, is its unique interdisciplinary nature. It's the only major that bridges two distinct colleges—the College of Computing and the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts. This collaboration means that I get to explore the technical depth of computer science alongside creative and human-centered approaches from the liberal arts. The program allows me to work on projects that blend programming, design, and storytelling, giving me a holistic perspective on technology’s role in society. Being part of a major that emphasizes both creativity and technical skills is empowering, as it prepares me to tackle complex problems with a well-rounded, innovative approach.
What do you love about liberal arts at Georgia Tech?
What I love about the liberal arts at Georgia Tech is how it adds a fresh, dynamic perspective to a tech-focused environment. Georgia Tech is known for its STEM excellence, but the liberal arts here challenge us to think beyond technical solutions. The Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, for example, encourages students to explore areas like media, ethics, international relations, and digital communication, which deepens our understanding of technology's impact on society. It’s inspiring to be part of a program that values the human side of innovation, where students are not only skilled in their fields but also motivated to use those skills to make a meaningful difference in the world.
