Artificial intelligence is transforming the way films are imagined, created, and experienced. Join us for a dynamic panel discussion featuring emerging filmmakers from Georgia, Texas, and Turkey as they explore how AI is reshaping cinematic worldbuilding and storytelling.
This event will dive into the creative and ethical dimensions of using generative AI in film—from the challenges of crafting emotionally resonant screen experiences to the boundaries of human imagination that technology can’t quite replicate. Panelists will share insights on the future of visual effects, the role of AI in science-fiction cinema, and how artists are navigating the evolving landscape of digital tools.
Panelists Include:
- Darion D'Anjou – Award-winning AI filmmaker known for his work on YouTube and Instagram
- Laila Jhané – Filmmaker and visual artist exploring identity and expression
- Dylan Varella – Texas-based filmmaker joining virtually, creator of the AI/live-action music video Get To You on Vimeo
Moderated by:
Tanju Ozdemir, Assistant Professor of Film and Media at Emory University and independent director whose films explore themes of immigration, memory, and identity.
Presented by Georgia Tech’s CoLab: Creative/Career Origination Lab, the Atlanta Sci-Fi Film Festival, and the School of Literature, Media, and Communication, this event is a must-attend for anyone curious about the intersection of art, technology, and the future of film.
