Four from Ivan Allen Among the 2017 Faces of Inclusive Excellence

Four from the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts were honored by Georgia Tech Institute Diversity as 2017 Faces of Inclusive Excellence, which recognizes a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students who are committed to advancing a culture of inclusive excellence at Georgia Tech.
The honorees from Ivan Allen are:
Nihad Farooq, associate professor in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication at Georgia Tech, who co-led the diversity working group for the school.
Mary Frank Fox, ADVANCE Professor in the School of Public Policy at Georgia Tech, who received the undergraduate SGA Faculty of the Year Award and the Ivan Allen College Distinguished Faculty Research Award.
Jillann Hertel, academic professional and Creative Director in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication, who founded the interdisciplinary social justice minor in partnership with the School of History and Sociology at Georgia Tech, and also served on the steering committee of Transformative Narratives.
Kaye Husbands Fealing, chair and professor in the School of Public Policy, who received a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to establish a program, in collaboration with the Center for Advanced Communications Policy, that broadens veterans’ participation in STEM.
