I like the fact that I have a lot of elective space and a pretty liberal curriculum load which allows me to pursue my interests in other fields of study. This allows me to take more than just major-specific courses and expand my knowledge into other areas.
What do you love about liberal arts at Georgia Tech?
I like the fact that you get a more rounded educational experience that other liberal arts college do not give. For example, the fact that all the majors in Ivan Allen are Bachelors of Science gives each graduate of the college more applicable skills that give them a leg up against other liberal arts majors in their respective field.

INTA at Tech is propelled by people working diligently to provide answers to the questions of our time with pragmatic, open-minded, and modern solutions.
What do you love about liberal arts at Georgia Tech?
We are doing something unlike most liberal arts programs around the world. Because of the importance of STEM-based coursework embedded within Ivan Allen majors, IAC students are uniquely equipped with the math and science skills that too many policymakers lack. With the valuable knowledge I have gained and will gain throughout my time at Tech, I will be more than capable of tackling the greatest problems and opportunities of the 21st century.

What internship, job, research, study abroad, or other academic experiences do you have?
I interned with CNN International Planning from January to August 2024 where I helped book the guests that you would see on TV. Prior to this, in the summer of 2022, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad with the European Union Study Abroad Program, where we explored various aspects of security and defense across Europe. We visited key institutions like the European Commission and the European Parliament, gaining firsthand insight into the decision-making processes that shape EU policies. Our travels took us through Germany, France, Romania, Luxembourg, and Belgium. Each country offered unique perspectives—Germany's pivotal role in European defense, France's influence on EU security policies, Romania's Eastern European security challenges, Luxembourg's economic aspects of security, and Belgium's position as the heart of European governance. These experiences provided a comprehensive view of how nations within the EU collaborate on critical issues. Additionally, I was awarded the PURA research grant, which allowed me to investigate how sports can both unite and divide people, and how these dynamics can be applied to everyday life. These diverse experiences have enriched my understanding of international relations, media, and the power of community.
What do you like best about your major?
I love the versatility of the International Affairs major. You can take it in any direction, whether by specializing in a specific region of the world, such as Asia, Europe, or Latin America, or focusing on topics like nuclear proliferation or space policy. During my time at Georgia Tech, I chose to explore the path of journalism with a focus on an international market!

What I love about liberal arts at Georgia Tech is the unique blend of traditional STEM disciplines with a liberal arts perspective. The opportunity to collaborate with students from diverse academic backgrounds, combined with a shared collection of interdisciplinary classes, really sets us apart. This environment gives us a broader understanding and equips us with the skills to lead in both technological innovation and thoughtful societal contributions.
