• Mitchell Participates in National Academies Science Panel on Emergency Warning Systems Research; Presents at CTIA Wireless Conference

• Clifton Wins Award for Excellence in Student Research Using Historical Records

  Alice Clifton, a doctoral student in the History and Sociology of Technology and Science graduate program in the Ivan Allen College School of History and Sociology, has received the 2016 Award for Excellence in Student Research Using Historical Records.

  

• Public Policy Paper Reflects on Faculty Contributions to Nanotechnology Research

  “Lessons from Ten Years of Nanotechnology Bibliometric Analysis,” a paper written by faculty in the Ivan Allen College School of Public Policy, has been accepted and will be presented at the upcoming International Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Blue Skies Forum on Science and Innovation Indicators in Ghent, Belgium, in September 2016.

  

• Lee Wins ISPIM Innovation Management Dissertation Award

  You-Na Lee, an alumna (PubPol ’15) and visiting assistant professor in the Ivan Allen College School of Public Policy, received the 2016 International Society for Professional Innovation Management (ISPIM) Innovation Management Dissertation Award during the XXVII ISPIM Innovation Conference in Porto, Portugal.

• Phuong and Higinbotham Join Leadership Atlanta's 2017 Class

  Atlanta Parks and Recreation Commissioner Amy Phuong (IA 2005) and Sarah Higinbotham, a Brittain Fellow in Georgia Tech’s Writing and Communication Program, have joined the Leadership Atlanta program as members of its 2017 class.

  Jacqueline Royster, dean and Ivan Allen Jr. Chair of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, received the Leadership Excellence Award at Georgia Tech’s Diversity Symposium Reception on September 15.

  

• Diana Hicks Awarded the 2016 Ziman Prize by the European Association for the Study of Science and Technology

  Diana Hicks, a professor in the School of Public Policy, received the 2016 Ziman Award from the European Association for the Study of Science and Technology (EASST) with her co-authors of the Leiden Manifesto.

• Sashti Named to Fulbright Specialist Program

  Raj Sashti, an advisor for Fellowships and Sponsored Programs in Georgia Tech’s Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, has been named to a five year term (2016 - 2021) as a U. S. academic/professional expert in the Fulbright Specialist Program (FSP). 

  

• Goodman Appointed USG Regents Professor

  Seymour E. Goodman has been appointed Regents Professor by the University System of Georgia (USG) Board of Regents. The title is the highest academic research recognition bestowed by USG. A professor of international affairs and computing in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs in the Georgia Tech Ivan Allen College, this recognition comes on the heels of Goodman’s appointment as a National Associate of the National Research Council (NRC).
